I personally think that reaching for a police officer's weapon constitutes escalation of force situation. Lethal force could be an option.

In many videos showing police violence, the police continues to beat the suspects long after they are lying on the ground. Then it's not about controlling the suspects anymore. It's all about revenge, frustration, power trips and sadistic behavior. Another thing is that the US police doesn't seem to understand how humans react to violence. You can't keep shouting "stop resisting" whilst beating or strangling a person. In that situation the suspect will be in tremendous pain and severe chock. The brain can't handle commands in that situation, when the stress levels are extremely high.

I was a child when it happened and I knew why. The news reported that he had a criminal record so people said he deserved it, they also laughed at his screams of pain. Very little has changed, now toddlers and grandmothers are being murdered.
Also, I took criminal justice courses and the procedure is fine it is not being followed, these murders were not, "by the book." It's called escalation of force: if the suspect isn't violent you don't pull a weapon, if he swings at you the baton comes out, if he pulls a knife you can pull a gun. When you absolutely must shoot, it's two rounds center of body mass, not mag dumping like a lunatic.

As for cop shootings, not only are they happening far too often, but why is it they seem to always shoot to kill? A commenter below says his police training was "when you absolutely must shoot, it's two rounds center of body mass" – two shots to the heart region. Why not four-six rounds at the legs?
Criminal culture needs to change… the society that murders unborn babies needs to change. The society the rewards women for having babies without the father in the home needs to change.. cops need to be praised…
Maher's point over cadets going in wanting to bust heads is true from what I have heard from cadets shocked at their fellow students of all races wanting a power trip.

I love both of these men as well as Stern and Hitchens. But if I had to choose between the two of I think I’d take Bill. He has a much smarter, insightful take on the world. But then I think of the time Stephen stepped in for Daft Punk and then I’m team Stephen!😂
Bill is right "police who want revenge for High School." I have seen them, not all of them but enough of them. They can be screened out, it is done successfully in some places.

We all need the police sure Bill …but not everyone respects them …far from it. Cops are worried about those types so just be as respectful as you can possibly be and keep any guff to yourself. Tell it to the judge.
