To turn off the subtitles, hit the CC button in the control bar. Hi, I’m Captain Curt, head of Spyence Headquarters
and this is Papa Smurf
What? No you’re not, he’s Square Bob Sponge Pants
No! Wait, Square Bob? Anyway, his real name is Don’t… tell ’em! Why not?
We’re spies, we don’t go around telling everyone our names. Okay, fine, I won’t tell them your name, Bob. You’d better not.
Okay I won’t, Bob. Anyway, we work undercover at Spyence headquarters to help Superheroes
do their jobs better, and we’ve got our eye on two superheroes-in-training
Tom and Larry Yeah, they’re about your age, and we think
they’re going to make great superheroes one day. They still have a lot to learn, but
That’s why they go to Sunday school at their churches!
That’s right, let’s see what they’re learning this week.
Here’s… Tom and Larry! Hi Larry!
Oh, Hi Tom! You look worried. Yeah, I was sitting in my Sunday School class
and my teacher, Miss Emily, was telling us about how important it is to have a “Quiet
Time” each day. What’s that?
She said a “Quiet Time” is where you turn off the TV and all other distractions and
just think about God for a few minutes. Wait let me get this straight. It’s called
quiet time? Yep.
And you turn off the TV. Yep, anything that would distract you from
thinking about God. What about your Ipad?
Turn it off; that would distract you. Videogames?
Off, those are really distracting. Karaoke machine?
Off, off, off, definitely distracting. And then you just focus on God?
Yeah, Miss Emily said to think about God, talk to Him, thank Him.
Ewww, Quiet Time sounds soooo boring! And then someone in the class told Miss Emily
they were going to have a quiet time alone with God every day this week.
Every single day? Yep, and guess who it was.
Mary? No, it wasn’t Mary.
Oh! Oh! It had to be Edward! No, it wasn’t Edward. It was…
You’re going to have a quiet time every day this week? Won’t that be soooo boring!?!
I know! What do I do? Why don’t you just tell Miss Emily it’s too
hard and you can’t do it? Maybe… but…
But what? But I’m kind of curious. Miss Emily says when
you do quiet times, you to get to know God better. Do you think that’s true?
No way, it can’t be, no. Unless… Unless what?
Unless… it is true!!! What if you really can get to know God?
I’m going to try it! … But spending time alone with God sounds so boring, I’d rather
eat pickles! Wait, did I just say that out loud? We need someone to help us figure out this Quiet Time thing.
Yeah, if only there was some superhero organization that could help, like a Spy Headquarters
Or Science Headquarters Or Spy Science Headquarters, or something… Welcome to Spyence Headquarters, I’m Captain
Curt and I’m Bob
and we equip many of the world’s best Superheroes with their gear…
capes, masks, secret hideouts, delicious snackpacks Snackpacks?
Yeah, is it breakfast time? No,
Lunch time? No,
Snack time. It’s not snack…
It’s always snack time. No, It’s not…
Hey kids, you got a snackpack? No, he doesn’t have a snackpack.
How do you know they don’t have a snackpack? They might have a snackpack! Kids, you got
a snackpack? Shhh! settle down, we need to help Tom and
Larry figure out how to have a Quiet Time. Wait, what’s a quiet time?
It’s a time where you focus on God, so you turn off the TV and games and all other distractions.
Oh, like when you’re in trouble and you get a time-out.
Well, it’s like a good time-out. A whatchoo-talking-bout?
It’s a good time-out. You do it because you want to.
Why would you want to have a time-out? Okay, think of it this way. What if Jesus
came over to your house? Wouldn’t you want to turn off the tv and any videogames and
really pay attention to Him? Yeah.
Well, it’s sort of like that. When adults talk about a “Quiet Time,” they mean you’re
turning off all the distractions and just paying attention to God. Maybe a better name
would be Time Alone With God. So for a couple minutes, you’re just spending
time alone with God? Yeah.
Why? Well, think about Iron – his iron man suit
Is awesome! That’s right, but his suit needs energy to
run. So he uses a form of energy more powerful than lightning, or dynamite, he uses one of
the most powerful forces in the entire universe… Cheetohs!
What? Cheetohs! They’re cheesey and crunchy! Mm-mmm!
No!!! he uses an arc reactor. You mean that glowy blue donut of science
energy in his chest? Yeah, and when the arc reactor runs out of
energy, what does Iron Man have to do? Go home and ask his mommy to put in a new
one? No, he does it himself, and then what happens?
He gets more power? That’s right, and here’s the point… like
Iron Man needs power for his suit, Christians need spiritual power to serve God each day.
We can’t obey God and live the way He wants us to without God’s power in our lives. But,
and this is important , God’s power doesn’t come from arc reactors in our chest. That
kind of spiritual power only comes from… Cheetos.
No, From spending Time Alone With God. We have to focus our thoughts on God, and spend
some time with Him, before we head out into our day.
Oh… I really thought it was going to be cheetohs!
No, our main point is…Oh! are you ready for it?
Did you bring something to help all the kids remember the main point?
Yep, got it ready. Go… Okay, here’s the main point. Each day, focus
on God for a few moments. Right, Each day, focus on God for a few donuts.
Bob! It’s: Each day, focus on God for a few moments.
Right, Every day, focus on God for a few donuts. Bob! Each day, focus on God for a few MOMENTS.
Oh, hahahaha, can I eat this? How about after you have your Time Alone With
God? Okay, I’m going to go have Time Alone With
God right now. Wait, I don’t know what I’m doing. How exactly
do I do Time Alone With God? I’m glad you asked. It’s time to head to our
Secret Lab for Bible Spyence Truth with Kristy Cross Applesauce
What? That’s not her name. It’s time for Bible Spyence Truth with Secret Agent K… Hi, I’m Secret Agent K, broadcasting to you
from the Spyence Headquarters Secret Spyence Lab, trying out a new secret agent disguise
for underwater missions No one will ever recognize me. Now here’s the truth we need you spyentists
to know this week: Let’s say you wake up Monday morning, and
you’re about to head to school, and you’re thinking about what you need to take – your
lunch, your homework, your stuff for soccer or music or whatever. And you think you have
everything you need, but wait… how’s your spiritual energy for the day?
You don’t want to head out with your spiritual batteries on low. You need to charge those
spiritual batteries up. Picture it like this… You need to store up God’s power for the day
– maybe you have a math test, so you ask God to help you do your best, maybe there’s a
kid who’s mean to you at school, so you ask God to help you be nice to Him
even when he’s mean to you, maybe you’re worried about playing well in your soccer game, so
you talk to God about that. You ask him to help you play your best, and be a good sport
whether you win or lose, and see, as you spend Time Alone With God, you build up more and
more power, until your spiritual energy is overflowing. Listen to Psa 46: 1 God is our place of safety. He gives us strength. He is always there to
help us in times of trouble.” So before you start your day, spend some Time
Alone With God and get His strength. How? Just find a quiet place and focus on God for
a few moments. Tell him what you’re nervous about, and tell him what you’re excited about,
too, tell him what you’re thankful for. You can tell God anything. Remember, God is our
place of safety and He gives us strength. If you’re already spending Time Alone With
God, that’s wonderful, keep it up this week, and use that strength God gives you to serve
Him. If you’re not in the habit of spending some Time Alone With God, don’t make it complicated:
Just find some time before school, go to a quiet place – maybe your bedroom, turn off
the tv or anything else distracting, and just spend a few moments thinking about God. Maybe you want to thank Him for loving you.Or Maybe you just want to just think about the verse we learned this week. Maybe youre nervous and you want to tell God about it and ask for Him for His help. You can talk to God about anything. Later in Psa 46 it says, “Be still, and know
that I am God.” That’s what Time Alone With God is — Just
being still and spending time with Him, letting Him fill you with his strength until your
spiritual energy is… overflowing. So like Iron Man, you want to recharge your power each day by spending Time Alone With God. And God will give you strength that will help you do your best in school, and you can
be nice to the kids who are mean to you Like a superhero!
Yeah, and you can be a good sport while playing soccer
Like a superhero! Yes, and most importantly, you can share God’s
love with everyone you meet. Bob, can you think of someone in the Bible like that?
Ironman! No, who is the best example in the Bible of
sharing God’s love with everyone He met… Spiderman!
No, the greatest man who ever lived, who died on the cross for our sins and came back to
life, Oh! Jesus!
Yes, he’s the greatest Superhero of all time, and each day, we can focus on Him for a few
moments. That’s even better than getting to meet the
Electric Pickle. Electric Pickle?
Code Name: Defense Pickle Haha. Powered by the most powerful power on earth…
Don’t say it… Cheetohs! The Spyence lab is under attack from the evil robots, Destructor, the Crusher, Monster Vac, Grimster, The Annihilator, T-Rex Everything,
the Devastator, and… Phil. Answer these questions and help our heroes, the Shark-Rat Super-Sisters, protect the Spyence lab. Good Luck! Rat Attack Special… Rat-a-toille Shark Bait Attack… Fin Blast Rat Attack Special… Rat Marks the Spot Shark Bait Attack… Is it a shark, or is

AIIIEEEE-AIIEEE-AAAIIIEEE Good Job Spyentists…
The secret lab has been secured. You may not recognize us without our superhero
costumes, but we’re the Shark Rat Sisters
We’re undercover right now. To teach you the Secret Spyence Lab Bible
Verse. And today’s memory verse is super —
Duper! It’s awesome –
possum! It’s killer –
pumpkin! Killer pumpkin?
Oh, it’s a thing. So for our memory verse today – we’re taking
the first part of Psalms 46: 1 and then skipping down to the first part of Psalms 46:10, and
putting them together like Peanut butter and chocolate!
No! I was going to say putting them together like
A Frozen Sing-Along! That doesn’t make any sense, I was going to
say we’re putting them together like this… Ooohhhhhh
Let’s do it like this… Psalms 46:1a and 10a. Okay, Everyone do it with us. Psalms
46:1a and 10a Then it goes like this: God is our place of
safety. He gives us strength. Okay, Everybody try that with us… God is our place of safety.
He gives us strength. Okay, Let’s try it together from the beginning.
Psalms 46:1a and 10a. God is our place of safety. He gives us strength. And then we’re
going to add, “Be still, and know that I am God.” Everyone do that together with us. Be
still, and know that I am God. And now let’s put it all together from the
beginning. Psalms 46:1a and 10a. God is our place of safety. He gives us strength. So,
be still, and know that I am God. One more time, really loud! Psalms 46:1a and
10a. God is our place of safety. He gives us strength. So, be still, and know that I
am God. Hi, Captain Curt from Spyence Headquarters
here. And right now, right here, we get to tell God how much we appreciate Him through
our singing. And He loves to hear you sing to Him. Because you know what – God loves
You. In fact, you probably know this classic song… “Jesus loves the little children of the world,
all the children, red and yellow black and white, they are precious in his sight, Jesus
loves the little children of the world.” Or sometimes at my church, I’ve heard people
sing, “Jesus loves the little children, all the children of the world, red and yellow,
blue and green, strangest kids we’ve ever seen. Jesus loves the little children of the
world” Or sometimes I’ve even heard, “Jesus loves
the little children, all the children of the world, red and yellow, purple, pink, take
a bath you kinda stink… Jesus loves the little children of the world.” But that’s
not very nice, is it? In fact, if you were at my house, you might
hear my wife singing, she sings, “Jesus loves the little children, all the children of the
world, red and yellow, brown and beige, get my husband off the stage! Jesus loves the
little children of the world.” And that’s straight out of the Bible. The
bible says says in John 3:16 For God loved the whole world so much that he gave his only
Son, Jesus. So that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
Isn’t that great? God loves you, whether your hair is red or blond, whether your skin is
dark or light, God loves you and wants to give you eternal life, and wants you to be
part of His family! And that’s why we’re going to sing this morning and praise him and thank
him for being such a great God.
